Estimator / Proposal Engineer - Office Furniture Projects

About Us: We are a well-established Office Furniture and Fit-out solutions provider in the UAE (Founded in 2006). We specialize in high-end projects, supplying loose furniture, workstations, and ergonomic seating to government entities and corporate clients. We are looking for a detail-oriented Estimator to join our team and handle competitive tendering and project costing.

Role Summary: The ideal candidate must have specific experience in the Office Furniture industry. You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing commercial and technical tender submissions, and ensuring our proposals are competitive and compliant with client requirements (Government & Private sectors).

Key Responsibilities:

• Tender Management: Lead the preparation of tender submissions for Government and Private sector projects (RFPs/RFQs).
• Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates for loose furniture, workstations, and joinery.
• Proposals: Draft comprehensive Commercial and Technical proposals, ensuring all compliance documents, datasheets, and specifications are included.
• Sourcing: Liaise with local and international suppliers to obtain the best pricing for materials and products.
• Value Engineering: Propose alternative product solutions to meet client budgets without compromising quality.
• Margin Analysis: Calculate profit margins and ensure pricing strategies align with company targets.

Requirements (Must Haves):

• Industry Experience: Minimum 2-4 years of experience specifically in the Office Furniture or Interior Fit-out industry in the UAE.
• Tendering Knowledge: Proven track record of handling tenders (Tejari, Government portals, or large corporate bids).
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (formulas, costing sheets) and MS Word (proposal formatting).
• Language: excellent command of English (written and spoken) is mandatory for drafting technical specifications.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to spot errors in complex BOQs and tender documents.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

• Experience with AutoCAD, 3D Max, SketchUp, or pCon.planner.
• Basic graphic design skills (Photoshop/Adobe Illustrator) to enhance the visual appeal of technical proposals and other marketing materials.
• Note: Design skills are a strong plus but not mandatory.
