ETL Developer

Your future duties and responsibilities

• Optimize ETL workflows to ensure efficient data processing and minimize runtime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues related to ETL pipelines.
• Monitor ETL processes and ensure that data loads are completed in a timely manner without errors.

• Work with database administrators (DBAs) to manage and optimize data warehouses and data marts.
• Create and maintain database schemas, tables, and views to support ETL workflows and reporting requirements.
• Ensure proper indexing, partitioning, and data storage strategies to support large volumes of data.

• Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and other technical teams to understand data needs and ensure data availability for reporting and analysis.
• Document ETL processes, data flow, and architecture for internal reference and compliance purposes.
• Provide training and support to other team members regarding ETL best practices and troubleshooting techniques.

• Implement data validation techniques to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of the transformed data.
• Develop automated testing frameworks for ETL processes to detect data issues early in the pipeline.

• Work with BI developers and data analysts to support the creation of data models, dashboards, and reporting solutions.
• Assist in data extraction and transformation to support ad-hoc analysis and business intelligence needs.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience as an ETL Developer or similar data-related roles.
• Strong experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS, Apache NiFi, Pentaho, or similar platforms.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g., Kimball, Inmon).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting) to automate ETL tasks.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and data architecture principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
• Familiarity with data lakes and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of data governance and best practices for data management.
• Experience with DevOps practices for ETL pipeline automation and deployment.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies for project delivery.
