Evening Accessioner
About the Role:
Join Green Clinics Laboratory as an Evening Accessioner, where you will play a vital role in processing and managing laboratory specimens. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to patient care in a dynamic environment while working with a dedicated team.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately receive and log incoming specimens for testing.
- Verify patient information and ensure proper labeling of samples.
- Prepare specimens for analysis
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to prioritize urgent samples.
- Assist in inventory management of laboratory supplies.
- Document and report any discrepancies or issues with specimens.
- Adhere to all regulatory and quality assurance standards.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) is a plus.
- Ability to work evening shifts.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology is advantageous.
- Proficient at transcribing information from paperwork to our digital lab system, fast typing a plus
Hours:
- Monday-Friday, 4:30pm to 9:00pm (shift length is variable, most nights evening staff is done between 7:30-8:00PM)
