About Us

The Simple Luxe Events & Builds is a full-service event design, fabrication, and production company specializing in custom backdrops, large-scale balloon installations, soft play, floral design, and creative event experiences. We produce high-level celebrations, brand activations, and custom builds for clients across LA/OC.

We are seeking an experienced Event Designer + with Sales experience to guide clients from concept to completion, starting with leads, design proposals, and lead onsite execution.

Position Overview

This role blends creative design, client communication, proposal building, logistics planning, and onsite styling. You will work directly with clients, create detailed mockups, assist with project management, and lead installations with support from an event stylist and or production assistant.

Key Responsibilities

Client Communication & Sales

  • Respond to inquiry leads and assess client needs, budget, and event details
  • Create proposals with accurate pricing and logistics
  • Present designs and provide revisions
  • Maintain professional, timely communication with all clients

Design & Creative Work

  • Create mockups, mood boards, color palettes, and layout maps
  • Select décor elements, balloon colors, rentals, props, soft play, and florals
  • Work closely with our fabrication team for custom builds
  • Ensure all designs align with The Simple Luxe aesthetic and standards

Planning & Logistics

  • Prepare pull lists and production notes
  • Coordinate delivery windows, staffing, and event schedules
  • Manage timelines for multiple events simultaneously
  • Oversee design handoff to the production team

Onsite Execution

  • Lead styling and hands-on installations (backdrops, balloons, florals, soft play, props)
  • Ensure setups match approved mockups
  • Direct assistants during installs
  • Problem-solve quickly under event-day timelines

Qualifications

  • 1–2+ years event design, event planning, or creative design experience
  • Strong design eye and aesthetic understanding
  • Experience with proposals, logistics, or project management
  • Ability to create mockups using Adobe Illustrator
  • Strong communication skills, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Able to work weekends
  • Able to lift 30–40 lbs and assist with installs as needed
  • Valid driver’s license | may require driving high roof transit or box truck

Schedule

  • Tuesday–Saturday full-time (may be off some Saturdays if no events)
  • Sundays as needed depending on events
  • Weekends required on a rotating basis
