Role Purpose:
To lead the planning, development, and execution of internal and external events that enhance brand visibility, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and support the organization’s strategic goals, ensuring seamless coordination and alignment with corporate identity and objectives.
Key Accountability Areas
Planning & Strategy:

Contribute to the design and implementation of the department’s strategy and roadmap by providing function- specific inputs.

Establish and implement the function’s operational plans in support of the department’s overall strategic plan and KPIs.
Budget:
• Participate in annual budgeting cycle and process.
• Contribute to utilizing budget effectively, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered.
• Investigate and propose implementing strategies that result in positive financial impact for SANS and mitigate financial and operational risks
Internal Events Management:

Develop and maintain an annual internal events calendar aligned with company objectives.

Collaborate with HR and leadership to ensure events support employee engagement and retention goals.

Design creative and inclusive events that reflect the company’s values, mission, and diverse workforce.

Analyze employee feedback and event outcomes to continuously improve future planning.

Identify key milestones (anniversaries, achievements) to celebrate through internal events.

Create contingency plans to adapt events based on changing internal or external factors.
External Events Management:

Develop and maintain an annual calendar of external events aligned with organizational objectives.

Identify opportunities for brand exposure, business growth, and industry engagement through targeted events.

Collaborate with senior leadership to set strategic goals for each event.

Research trends and best practices in event management to innovate and improve execution.

Align event themes and content with the company’s vision, mission, and branding guidelines.

Ensure all events contribute to long-term strategic outcomes such as visibility, partnerships, and influence.
Team Leadership & Coordination:

Lead and manage the internal and external events team, ensuring effective delegation of roles and responsibilities to maximize team performance.

Conduct comprehensive planning meetings and regular status check-ins to track progress, address challenges, and ensure alignment with event objectives.

Encourage creativity and innovation within the team by brainstorming event ideas and exploring new execution strategies.

Facilitate interdepartmental collaboration to ensure seamless event alignment, participation, and support across the organization.

Evaluate team performance post-event, delivering constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.

Policies, Processes and Procedures

Propose improvements to Department’s policies and ensure the implementation of procedures and controls across all areas of activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering high quality and cost-effective results.

Monitor day-to-day activities to ensure compliance with stipulated policies and procedures.

Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes taking into account leading practices, changes in business environment, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
People Management:

Manage, guide and assist direct reports to perform their functional operations in accordance with set policies and procedures.

Participate in identifying and recruiting key talent for Department.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum 9 years of experience in Marketing, with at least 2 years in senior managerial positions is required.
Education and Certifications:
A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing or equivalent is required.
