This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.
As the Events Program Manager, you will be the driving force behind Blue Origin’s internal events, creating engaging and seamless experiences that connect our team to our mission. You will serve as the primary Technical Director and executive producer for our most critical productions, leading them from creative concept through flawless execution.
This role masterfully blends strategic event planning with hands-on technical direction. You will be the Engineer in Charge for our events program, responsible for the end-to-end management of all-hands meetings, executive briefings, and special broadcasts. You will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure their vision is technically achievable, lead production teams, and operate complex AV systems. Your primary goal is to deliver memorable and high-impact events that inform, inspire, and unite our organization through innovative and polished productions.
The responsibilities for this role are focused on the complete event lifecycle, from strategic planning and documentation to flawless live execution and post-event content creation.
Event Production & Technical Direction (70%)
End-to-End Event Management: Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all internal events. Draft and maintain critical documentation, including run-of-show documents, workback plans, and operational guides.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal clients (leadership, HR, engineering) to define event goals and messaging. Act as the technical consultant to ensure an event's objectives are technically achievable and executed to the highest standard.
Live Event Direction (Technical Director): Serve as the Engineer in Charge for live and hybrid events. Lead technical rehearsals and direct the live broadcast, including real-time vision/camera switching, FOH audio mixing (A1/A2), graphics integration, and livestream management.
Post-Production & VOD Management: Provide post-production services for major events, including multi-track recording and editing. Manage and maintain our internal Video-on-Demand (VOD) library, adhering to content retention policies.
Technology, Training & Infrastructure (30%)
Technical Readiness & Support: Ensure all event spaces and production systems are maintained, configured, and ready for high-stakes events. Provide expert-level troubleshooting to quickly resolve technical issues in a live environment.
Strong, hands-on knowledge of live production technology, including livestreaming software (Wirecast, OBS), live video switchers (Ross Carbonite, Blackmagic, Tricaster), and a strong understanding of professional digital audio mixers (e.g., Allen & Heath, Yamaha) and audio ecosystems like Q-SYS and Dante.
Expertise with modern streaming and video transport protocols, including NDI, Dante, SRT, HLS, RTMPS, and WebRTC.
Solid experience with video editing software such as DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere.
Experience leading the technical design and setup for AV in event spaces.
Proven ability with enterprise video collaboration platforms including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Webex.
Exceptional troubleshooting skills with the ability to calmly and quickly resolve technical issues as they arise in a high-pressure, live broadcast space.
Adept at translating a creative or business vision into technical event requirements and executing it flawlessly.
Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Communications, Film, Broadcast Technology)
Industry certifications such as CTS, CTS-D, Dante, or other production-related credentials
Certified Technology Specialist (CTS), Digital Event Strategist (DES), or Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification
Experience with lighting for broadcast, including basic design, coordination, and focus
Knowledge of IT networking, firewalls, and multicast as they apply to AV and streaming
Additional Information
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Travel: Up to 50%, as required.
On-Site: This is an on-site role at our Cape Canaveral, FL or Kent, WA facility.
Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $100,997.00 - $141,395.10

Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
