SALARY RANGE: 16.16 - 24.23HOURLY

General Summary:

The EVS Associate, Equipment Operation performs a variety of tasks to include floor maintenance of hard surface and carpet (stripping, waxing, buffing, bonneting and extraction) as well as general cleaning tasks. This function required the operation of floor machinery. Duties also include moving furniture, wall washing, perform meeting set-up, confidential material collection, and Regulated Medical Waste handling. Additionally, operating the SteraMist Binary Ionization Technology to treat assigned Hospital areas is required.




Department team members are authorized to have limited access to secured medication rooms to perform duties and responsibilities as defined in this job description. Any staff member requiring limited access to secured medication rooms must have a fully completed and signed Medication Security Agreement for Non-Licensed Personnel form on file and available upon request.


Responsibilities:

1. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, and environmental and infection control standards.
2. Perform preventative maintenance check on all equipment prior to use.
3. Secure the work area and post proper safety notices for other users of the space prior to beginning work.
4. Floor care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing, burnishing, floor stripping and refinishing.
5. Vacuuming, bonneting, extracting and upholstery cleaning.
6. Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls of bathrooms.
7. Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials properly and in compliance with Bayhealth policy.
8. Dusts furniture, woodwork and equipment.
9. Removes waste and soiled linens from work area and places in specified bags or containers.
10. Performs routine and terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares room for new occupant: follow isolation procedures in isolation rooms.
11. Polishes and cleans fixtures in-patients, utility rooms and restrooms and all public and staff areas.
12. Performs all duties in accordance with continuous quality improvement principles and philosophy of organization.
13. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities
