Excavator Operator

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Operate heavy equipment safely, efficiently, and with high-quality workmanship while meeting production goals.

· Confirm all utilities, underground lines, and structures are located prior to excavation.

· Maintain legal and safe excavations in compliance with OSHA and City/County/State regulations.

· Inspect equipment and the work area before starting each job; complete all required safety paperwork.

· Perform routine equipment inspections and minor maintenance as needed.

· Load trucks with dirt, rock, aggregate, or other materials using various types of equipment.

· Understand soil classifications, how they impact excavation, and the hazards each soil type may present.

· Maintain constant situational awareness; safely operate equipment near underground utilities, overhead utilities, structures, other equipment, and workers.

· Maintain consistent workflow and productivity with minimal supervision.

· Ensure equipment is safely shut down, secured, and stored at the end of each shift.

· Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

· Occasional out-of-town work may be required.

SEASONAL SCHEDULE

· Summer: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

· Winter: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Pay: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour
