Job Summary

Scott Commercial Contracting is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Excavator Operator to join our concrete division. This is not just a "seat" job; we are looking for a versatile team player who can precision-operate an excavator in tight residential and commercial settings, while also being willing to jump out of the cab to assist the crew when needed.

The ideal candidate has specific experience in concrete demolition and site preparation, with the ability to work safely within lane closures and active traffic zones.

Key Responsibilities

• Precision Operation: Operate excavators for concrete demolition, including the removal of driveways, sidewalks, and curbing.
• Loading & Hauling: Efficiently load debris into dump trailers or roll-off trucks on-site, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Site Prep & Grading: Perform finish grading to prepare sites for new concrete pours.
• Traffic Safety: Work confidently within lane closures, adhering to all safety protocols to protect the crew and the public.
• Ground Support: When not operating, assist the crew with setting up form boards and other manual tasks as required to ensure the project stays on schedule.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Proven experience operating excavators, specifically in a concrete or civil construction environment.
• Concrete Knowledge: Strong understanding of concrete demolition and basic forming techniques.
• Valid Driver’s License: Must possess a valid DL with a clean driving record (required for insurance purposes and operating company vehicles).
• Technical Skill: Ability to grade to specific elevations and work around existing utilities.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in Florida conditions and perform manual labor as needed.
