Executive Assistant Position:

The North Central District Health Department has an opportunity for an Executive Assistant. This is a full-time contract position and serves under the direction of the Operations Director. The salary range is $21.52 – $26.75 hourly with a 37.5-hour work week. This is a contract position. Some of the responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

Executive Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Operations Director to support all aspects of the daily routine.
  • Maintain calendars and meeting preparation. Exercise discretion in committing time and evaluating needs.
  • Determine priority of matters of attention for the Director; redirect matters to staff to handle, or handle matters personally, as appropriate.
  • Must be able to precisely record, transcribe and dispense detailed minutes of meetings.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Operations Director, staff, and the public. This includes receiving and screening the phone calls and visitors, answering a variety of questions with tact and diplomacy, taking messages, and directing calls appropriately for resolution.
  • Create, edit, review, and proofread documents using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Compose letters and documents.
  • Keep the Operations Director advised of time-sensitive and priority issues, ensuring appropriate follow-up.
  • Accurate and timely completion of routine daily, weekly, monthly tasks as assigned. Will need to handle sensitive. information with professionalism and integrity while communicating openly and often among team members
  • Provide technical assistance during conference calls, presentations, projections, audiovisual presentations, etc.
  • Maintain filing system.
  • Greet visitors and manage inbound calls.
  • Other additional and/or alternative duties as assigned from time to time, including supporting other departments or Leadership as needed.

Executive Assistant Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Community Health, Accounting, Human Resource management, Computer Science, or related degree and three (3) years of experience that would demonstrate the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

OR

High School Diploma or GED and eight (8) years of experience in administrative responsibilities such as fiscal and budgeting, office management, or closely related activities.

North Central District Health Department serves the rural and small urban communities of Henry, Shelby, Spencer, and Trimble counties in Kentucky. We are centrally located between Louisville and Lexington, the two largest cities in Kentucky Our communities are full of beautiful parks, horse farms, bourbon distilleries and great dining, and our district office in Shelbyville is in close proximity to Kentucky’s only designer mall.
