Executive Assistant and Board Liaison

NHPR is seeking a seasoned, highly organized, tech-savvy professional to serve as the primary administrative partner to the President/CEO and an administrative liaison for the Board of Trustees. This role requires an individual who can navigate and prioritize scheduling for a high-level executive while simultaneously managing board relations and staff events. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver, adept in both Microsoft and Google suites.

This is a full-time, exempt, on-site role based in Concord, NH, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. The starting salary range for this position is $68,200 - $76,000 based on experience. We also consider internal equity, among other factors, when deciding compensation.

The role encompasses two equally important focus areas. One is executive support, being the bridge for smooth communication and planning between the CEO and internal teams, ensuring leadership alignment on key projects. The second focus is a liaison to the board of trustees and providing them with the support they need in their volunteer roles.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Manage a complex, high-volume calendar for the CEO, blocking "critical-action" time and coordinating internal/external meetings.
  • Conduct daily meetings with the CEO to review and prioritize emails and calendars.
  • Draft and edit correspondence, prepare meeting briefs, and manage donor-related letters (thank-you notes, renewals) on behalf of the CEO, in coordination with the development team.
  • Lead logistics for bi-monthly all-staff meetings, weekly senior team and monthly manager meetings, annual staff retreat, and holiday party.
  • Coordinate six annual Board meetings, multiple committee meetings (Nom & Gov, Planning, Finance, and Investment), and an annual retreat. Tasks include taking minutes, preparing packets, and securing venues and catering.
  • Assist the Office Manager with logistics for station events and meetings.

Other Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide support for the senior team for board committee work and special projects.
  • Manage travel arrangements, expenses and mileage for the CEO; assist staff with special orders and subscriptions using Divvy/Bill.com.
  • Provide seamless support across MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT) and Google Workspace.
  • Participate in fund drives and other tasks as assigned.
  • Serve as the administrator for BoardEffect, managing document distribution, user accounts, and historical file transitions.
  • Support the CEO in managing the trustee recruitment and orientation process.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of executive-level administrative experience, ideally in a non-profit or media environment. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Mac OS. Experience with BoardEffect or similar board portals is a plus. Willingness to explore AI as a tool to streamline rote tasks.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; a high degree of discretion, diplomacy, and professional judgment.
  • Familiarity and comfort level with AI-assisted tools that reduce redundancy is a plus.
  • Customer service mindset as a baseline for all interactions.

However, we know there are great candidates who may not have all these qualities or who have important skills we may not have outlined above. If this is you, do not hesitate to apply and tell us about yourself
