The Internet Security Alliance, a small trade association located in Arlington, Virginia, focusing on cybersecurity from both the business and public policy perspective, is seeking a self-motivated individual to serve as the president’s assistant and to support ISA staff as needed. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to manage a variety of technological platforms and to juggle multiple tasks and information requests, and strong organizational skills. The right candidate will possess the skills to complete complex tasks quickly and have the business acumen to respond appropriately to emerging developments. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, able to work with minimal oversight and possess a “can do, get it done” work philosophy. The work atmosphere is relaxed with minimal bureaucracy; however, given the criticality of the issues the ISA addresses, the expectations for quality work are high.
Responsibilities:
- Manage president’s complex calendar, including scheduling meetings, working with the president to prioritize time allocation, and coordinating travel
- Be the main contact with the ISA Board of Directors and their individual staffs
- Plan four (2 in-person and 2 virtual) board meetings per year
- Manage president’s multiple speaking engagements
- Manage member invoicing, accounts payable, and website updates
- Manage the day-to-day operations, including checking the mail, answering the phones, ordering supplies, and monitoring the president’s email inbox
- Perform a variety of cybersecurity research assignments as they relate to the ISA mission and goals
Skills:
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, that are professional, effective and courteous, including social media skills
- Tech savvy and comfortable with using and, as needed, managing applications. Skilled in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, WordPress, and social media platforms
- Familiarity in tracking and managing membership billing
- Maintaining an organized filing system of electronic documents
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with demonstrated ability to multi-task and operate effectively with minimal supervision
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to proofread for grammar and punctuation with a high level of accuracy
- Excellence in problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, and results- oriented skills
- Effectively managing virtual meeting platforms including Zoom and Microsoft Teams

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
