Job Title: Executive Chef
Job Summary
The Executive Chef is responsible for managing all kitchen operations, ensuring menu excellence, food quality, consistency, and cost efficiency. He/she leads the culinary team, maintains hygiene and safety standards, and ensures customer satisfaction through innovative menus and exceptional food presentation.
Key ResponsibilitiesMenu & Food Quality
- Develop creative menus and ensure consistent food quality and presentation
- Plan daily specials and seasonal menu changes
- Standardize recipes and portion sizes across all operations
- Monitor food preparation to ensure taste, quality, and freshness
Kitchen Management
- Manage all kitchen operations including planning, preparation, and cooking
- Coordinate with purchasing team for high-quality and cost-effective ingredients
- Maintain kitchen equipment and oversee regular maintenance
- Control kitchen expenses, food cost, and wastage
Team Leadership
- Train, supervise, and develop kitchen staff
- Allocate duties and ensure productivity across all shifts
- Conduct regular performance evaluation and staff meetings
- Maintain strong communication between service and kitchen teams
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, food hygiene, and safety policies
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation across all kitchen areas
- Apply strict standards of personal and staff hygiene
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as Executive Chef or Head Chef
- Strong knowledge of modern culinary techniques and menu development
- Excellent leadership and time-management skills
- Ability to control food cost and manage kitchen budgets
- Expertise in food safety standards
Education & Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Culinary Arts or equivalent
- Food Safety & HACCP certification preferred
