Job Overview
The Executive Compensation Manager is the primary consultant for Director and Senior Director compensation at T-Mobile. This role partners directly with senior business leaders, HR Business Partners, and cross-functional HR teams to deliver thoughtful, market-based, and business-aligned compensation solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, business insight, and the ability to consult with executives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This position serves as the face of Director and Sr. Director compensation, ensuring decisions are consistent, competitive, and aligned with both internal equity and external market benchmarks.

** This is a hybrid role (3 days/week in the office) and can be based in Bellevue, WA or Overland Park, KS **

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead consultant on all compensation matters for Directors and Senior Directors, advising Sr Director HR Strategic Advisors, Sr. HRBPs, and business leaders.
  • Evaluate Director and Sr. Director roles, providing guidance on leveling, job architecture alignment, and FLSA designation compliance.
  • Develop and review external new hire offers, promotion recommendations, lateral move compensation, retention packages, severance arrangements, and other ad hoc pay changes.
  • Conduct market pricing and benchmarking using survey data; ensure internal equity and external competitiveness of pay structures.
  • Maintain updated job descriptions and survey matches for Director and Sr. Director roles.
  • Prepare executive-ready materials such as pay proposals, forecasts, and tailored compensation summaries.
  • Partner with business leaders to consult on compensation strategies and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead or support ad hoc compensation projects as business needs evolve.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with compensation governance standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, HR, or related field required.
  • 4+ years (or equivalent) experience in executive compensation or related consulting environment.
  • Advanced competency in Excel and financial modeling, with strong quantitative analytical skills.
  • Experience handling large, complex datasets and translating them into concise, actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to influence and present to senior executives; strong storytelling and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, discretion, and ability to handle highly confidential information.
  • Demonstrated project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven penchant for detail, process, and execution under tight timelines.
  • Confident working in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with multiple partners.

Preferred Experience/Certifications

  • Prior experience in a corporate consulting firm supporting Fortune 500 organizations.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Executive Compensation Professional (CECP), or Certified Equity Professional (CEP).

Base Pay Range: $90,700 - $163,500

Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
