Executive Director

Position Summary: This professional position is responsible for agency promotion and oversite of all operations, including human resources, financial management, court relations, and program supervision- ensuring compliance, efficiency, and alignment with CASP’s mission.

Evaluation: The CASP Board of Directors, following adopted policies of CASP, evaluates the Executive Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Hire, recruit, and train staff, as well as conduct regular evaluations to ensure performance standards are met. This role includes supervision of Probation Officers and the Office Manager/Receptionist and provides guidance and support in daily operations and caseload management. Additionally, the ED oversees payroll processes and tracks employee benefits.

  • Make daily deposits, pay invoices, review financial documents, send statements to the accountant, and prepare and present the annual budget to the CASP Board of Directors
  • Prepare program participant reports, appear in court as needed, maintain strong relationships with court personnel, prepare annual program report, and conduct informational meetings with judges, prosecutors, and other criminal justice officials to keep them informed/updated about the program.
  • Prepare monthly board reports, facilitate Board of Directors meetings, and collaborate with the Board to implement and oversee all CASP programs.
  • Obtain MULES certification to run criminal histories and serve as the agency administrator for the system.
  • Interview clients, set expectations and schedules for community service, and communicate client status to the courts.
  • Professionally represent CASP by promoting program to interested parties, recruit qualified partner organizations, and maintain and train community service work sites.

Qualifications/skills:

  • Maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license with current liability insurance at minimum level designated by office policy.
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in related field, (Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice), and three years of professional work experience in a similar role, including supervisory experience. Directly related experience may be substituted for the formal education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • No felony convictions due to MULES certification requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures: these include safety rules, financial reports, legal documents (court documents, police reports, etc.), instructions, and manuals.
  • Supervisory experience, including managing staff, conducting evaluations, and overseeing daily operations.
  • Display excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to write reports, correspondence, and answer questions from the courts and public.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial management, including preparing budgets, reviewing financial documents, and handling daily financial transactions.

· Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to deal with a variety of challenging situations where only limited standardization exists.

· Can sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time. Must also be able to bend and reach, push and pulls up to 25 pounds, lift and carry up to 40 pounds, view hard copy and computer documents up close (close vision), and operate a computer keyboard and/or mouse.

Work Environment:

· The work environment is an office setting with some out of office work, such as attending court. The Executive Director may be subject to extreme weather conditions when traveling to and from offsite locations. The office noise is low to moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

· Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

· The Executive Director’s duties and responsibilities require flexibility outside of the regular office hours. This position regularly involves working more than 40 hours per week.
