This is a crucial leadership role that requires balancing operational management with inspiring community engagement, fundraising, and donor cultivation. Desired Qualifications:

  • Applicants must currently reside in, or be able to relocate to, East Jefferson County, WA Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent professional work experience.
  • Prior experience in a leadership role in the nonprofit or community sector with similar management, budget, and fundraising responsibilities.
  • Experience with developmental disability regulatory requirements and funding mechanisms, or the aptitude and interest to learn.
  • Proven leadership and execution abilities in fundraising, development, and grant-writing, including working with donors, sponsors, foundations, etc.
  • Experience leading a capital campaign is a plus. Ability to lead administrative functions including project management, light bookkeeping, and computer skills to use email, internet, CRM software, and Google Workspace.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate successfully with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities, including the ability to write, speak, present, and listen effectively.
  • Proven ability to maintain an organizational culture that attracts, retains, and motivates staff, residents, and board members.
  • Familiarity with the Port Townsend/East Jefferson County community, and/or experience developing strategic partnerships and building community relationships, collaborations, and partnerships.
