Executive Director — Arkansas Alliance of Recovery Residences (AARR)

Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (Flexible as Needed)

Position OverviewThe Executive Director serves as the operational and public face of AARR, leading efforts to support recovery residences across Arkansas in achieving and maintaining credentialing as nationally recognized standardized homes. This role requires strong independence, initiative, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence in compliance, communication, finances, and organizational leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in close partnership with the Board of Directors in advancement of the organization as a whole.
  • Collaborate closely with specialized committees
  • Provide monthly reports to the Board of Directors
  • Establish and oversee processes for staff and volunteer recruitment, training, supervision, evaluations, and professional development.
  • Guide recovery homes through the credentialing process according to national and state standards
  • Serve as the primary representative and spokesperson for the organization
  • Participate in planning and execution of fundraising.
  • Monitor and ensure ongoing compliance to maintain credentials
  • Provide oversight of all the organization's activities and manage the day to day operations to ensure the organization fulfills its mission effectively, ethically, and in compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
  • Manage and update the organization’s website
  • Oversee all fiscal activities of the organization, ensuring appropriate financial controls, transparency, and accountability.
  • Maintain accurate financial and operational records in relation to the organization, operator support, and payroll. Understand accounting principals, financial statement compilation, bank reconciliations, and bookkeeping. Must understand grant accounting and budget tracking.
  • Oversee data collection, management, and analysis related to operations and grant reporting.
  • Maintain accurate grant records
  • Complete monthly reports to DHS and RedCap
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development (some travel required)

Schedule & Travel

  • Standard hours: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM
  • Flexibility required based on organizational needs
  • Regular in-state travel required
  • Occasional out-of-state travel for trainings

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in leadership, administrative, and supervisory roles.
  • Highly self-motivated with strong time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently the majority of the time
  • Excellent public relations and communication abilities
  • Must have a high level of financial management skills
  • Understand the principles of Accounting
  • Understand and create financial statements
  • Reconcile banks
  • Keep check registers
  • Understand grant accounting and budget reconciliations
  • Strong computer proficiency, including experience with:
  • Excel
  • Google Drive
  • QuickBooks
  • Website management tools
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Experience with grant management or grant operations
  • Demonstrates a sensitivity to and understanding of the population served.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
