Executive Director

Job Summary
We are seeking a strategic thinker and trusted partner—a thought leader who combines theory and practice with operational acumen, and who inspires confidence through integrity, humility, transparency and a collaborative spirit. Organizational Leadership & Development

● Provide overall leadership, management, and direction for the statewide CASA Association.

● Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and internal systems that promote a highly effective statewide organization.

● Supports the Board of Directors in its policy-setting role and, consistent with Board-approved policies, designs and implements workflows, procedures, and internal systems that promote organizational effectiveness

● Promote alignment with NM CASA mission and values.

● Prepare annual and multi-year strategic plans in partnership with the Board.

● Oversee staffing, supervision, and office operations.

● Foster an inclusive, supportive, and professional organizational culture.

Oversight of Local CASA Programs

● Ensure local CASA programs follow requirements outlined in the New Mexico CASA Compliance Manual and the AOC contract, using an approach that balances accountability, transparency, and relationship-based support.

● Conduct statewide quality assurance and compliance assessments, including onsite reviews, and communicate findings in a manner that promotes learning, improvement, and trust.

● Provide technical assistance, coaching, and support to local programs, including during leadership transitions or operational challenges.

● Analyze statewide CASA data to identify strengths, risks, and opportunities for improvement, and partner with programs to address identified needs.

● Receive and respond to concerns or complaints related to program operations or volunteer advocacy, exercising discretion, fairness, and sound judgment.

Statewide Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement

● Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with:

o Administrative Office of the Courts

o Children, Youth & Families Department

o Office of Family Representation and Advocacy

o Child welfare collaboratives, commissions, and statewide committees

● Represent NM CASA in statewide workgroups, committees, coalitions, and interagency initiatives.

● Build relationships with legislators, community leaders, funders, and allied organizations.

● Promote CASA’s mission and visibility across New Mexico.

● Maintains active membership in the National CASA Association, complies with all membership requirements, and collaborates with fellow state directors on initiatives and learning opportunities

Training & Professional Development Leadership

● Ensure access to high-quality pre-service, in-service, and advanced training for CASA volunteers, program staff, and board members.

● Oversee statewide training systems that are accessible through online, hybrid, and in-person formats.

● Ensure systems are in place for tracking training hours, compliance, and certification, and that local programs are supported in meeting training requirements.

Data, Reporting, and Administrative Accountability

● Oversee statewide data collection and reporting related to CASA programs, volunteers, and children served.

● Submit timely quarterly and annual reports to the Funders and the Board.

● Utilize data analysis to inform decision-making and drive statewide program improvements.

● Support local programs with training and tools needed for accurate data entry and reporting.

Financial Management & Fund Development

● Collaborate with the Board Treasurer and Finance Committee to develop and manage the statewide annual budget.

● Oversee financial operations, including invoicing, bookkeeping, contract compliance, and internal controls.

● Prepare financial reports for the Board and funders.

● Develop and implement a diversified fundraising strategy (grants, contracts, corporate support, individual giving, events).

● Advance a diversified fundraising strategy—including grants, contracts, corporate support, individual giving, and events—consistent with the Board-approved strategic plan and annual budget.

● Identify and pursue opportunities to strengthen long-term financial sustainability.

Communications, Marketing & Public Awareness

● Serve as the public spokesperson for the statewide CASA network.

● Develop and implement communication and marketing strategies that increase understanding and visibility of CASA.

● Advance coordinated communication and marketing strategies that increase public understanding of CASA and expand statewide visibility, consistent with the Board-approved strategic plan

● Oversee statewide branding, website content, and external messaging.

● Support local programs with tools for volunteer recruitment and community engagement.

Board Relations

● Work closely with the Board of Directors to support effective governance and strategic direction.

● Provide timely reports, updates, and recommendations.

● Assist with Board recruitment, development, orientation, and evaluation.

● Maintain transparency, accountability, and open communication with the Board.

Personnel Management

● Hire, supervise, train, and evaluate statewide CASA Association staff.

● Support staff professional development and performance.

● Ensure compliance with personnel policies and employment laws.

● Foster a collaborative, inclusive, trauma-informed work environment.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
