Executive Director (Part-Time)

About the Role

The Franconia Notch Regional Chamber of Commerce is seeking a part-time Executive Director to help grow and strengthen the regional business community.

This role is focused on membership growth, business engagement, and partnerships. The Chamber operates with a lean structure, and administrative, marketing, and financial functions are supported by staff and the Board.

The Executive Director’s primary responsibility is to build relationships, increase membership, and expand the Chamber’s impact across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Membership & Business Development (Primary Focus)

  • Recruit new Chamber members across the Franconia Notch region (Franconia, Littleton, Bethlehem, Sugar Hill, and surrounding areas)
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing members to support retention and engagement
  • Re-engage lapsed members and identify new opportunities for growth

Community & Regional Engagement

  • Serve as a visible representative of the Chamber within the local business community
  • Attend community events, business gatherings, and regional meetings as appropriate
  • Strengthen collaboration between businesses, municipalities, and community organizations

Revenue Development

  • Develop and secure sponsorships and partnerships
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue through membership, events, and partnerships
  • Assist in securing underwriting support for Chamber events, including the annual meeting

Events & Programs

  • Support and coordinate key Chamber events, including the annual meeting and Northern Star Award
  • Work with volunteers and Board members to plan and execute events
  • Help ensure events are well attended and financially sustainable

Organizational Leadership

  • Work with the Board of Directors to set priorities and support the Chamber’s mission
  • Provide regular updates on membership activity, outreach, and partnerships
  • Assist in implementing Board-approved initiatives
  • Oversee the Franconia Welcome Center to ensure it is staffed and supplied with the necessary products and distribution material.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Coordinate with Chamber staff handling marketing, membership renewals, and administrative tasks
  • Support communication with members through newsletters, email, social media, and announcements (in collaboration with staff)
  • Maintain clear communication between the Board, staff, and membership

Performance Expectations

Success in this role will be measured by:

  • Growth in Chamber membership
  • Retention and engagement of existing members
  • Development of sponsorships and partnerships
  • Increased visibility of the Chamber in the regional community

This position is designed to grow with the organization. Additional hours and compensation may be available based on demonstrated results.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the Franconia Notch region and local business community
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience in business development, sales, community leadership, or nonprofit work
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a part-time role
  • Comfortable engaging directly with business owners and community leaders

  • Responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping or office management
