Executive Director – Head of GTx Oman

JOB PURPOSE:

The role is primarily responsible for executing the GTx strategy of Oman, working with FAB CEO in Oman and FAB Head of coverage Oman in leading developments and sales, structuring GTx solutions, managing and growing of trade and cash business for FAB across Oman local clients in-country, outbound and inbound business originating from our network.

  • The job is critical in channeling and executing GTx HO strategy into Oman.
  • The role is based in Muscat (Oman)


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Setting and executing the strategy for the business, assess the market opportunities and challenges, and overall parameters of the business, in line with Head of GTx GCC ex UAE and Head of GTx International


Job Context:

Specific Accountability

As Executive Director Head of GTx Oman, you will be responsible for:


  • Actively engage with clients together with the Head of coverage, Oman and Oman Coverage team to build GTx business for the Bank in the country. A strong drive for GTx Sales, understanding of the GTx Products and clients in Oman.


  • Delivery of specific revenue targets returns on risk adjusted assets and equity consistent with the Bank’s acceptable risk parameters. Keeping the management aware of performance gaps with suggestions to rectify and improve performance and deepen client relationship


  • Structuring, executing and implementing workable and innovative solutions that meet customer needs. Providing technical expertise to relationship managers and facilitating client discussions. Lead structuring of bespoke GTx Solutions and ensure high-quality customer experience through consultative approach


  • Establishing strong stakeholder relationships and work with colleagues and partners across the network to build a strong GTx Franchise in Oman. Work closely with Cash Management and Trade Finance Product Management team in UAE to finalize related documentation/ structures/ rollout new products/ solutions/policies. Provide Oman country / competition feedback to review Bank’s product offering in Oman and potential up-tiering of the product suite.


  • Working closely with Coverage teams in-country and network to develop markets, clients, and products based on detailed Client Account Plan for growing GTx business and maximizing market share. Partnering with coverage teams to develop quality credit proposals supporting structuring of existing and new facilities


  • Ensuring transactions, facilities and implementation are being executed in a timely manner. Working closely with Compliance, Finance, Implementation, Operations, etc. for client on-boarding and smooth execution of transactions


  • Identifying and managing fraud, regulatory and compliance risks in the transactions when developing solutions for clients. Proactively managing transactional risk in an efficient and profitable manner.


  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of products, systems, processes, and practices while considering client needs, market developments and trends. Actively participate in opportunities to update product skills, understand market trends and competitor behaviors


  • Understanding and complying with regulations and internal policies i.e. Credit/ Compliance/ Operational Risks, etc.


FRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES, & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:

  • Strong Client network with focus to grow business for the bank in the country. Strong origination capability coupled with excellent customer service & negotiation skills
  • Strong technical knowledge in GTx products including Cash Management, Channels and Trade Finance
  • Self-starter who can handle all enquiries independently and able to effectively interact with customer to resolve enquiries.
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as a team player with strong influential skill that can motivate other team members to achieve the business objective. Ability to work in Matrix environment
  • Self-confident and performance driven. Ability to work under pressure and with a strong delivery focus.
  • Ability to articulate, formulate and deliver high quality client presentation
  • Understanding of operations processes and procedures, and related risk in trade transactions
  • Familiar with the regulatory environment concerning financial industry in country
  • Strong written and spoken English (Arabic is a plus)


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualification: Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce or equivalent discipline

Minimum Experience: 15+ years Transaction Banking experience.
