This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how we engage with the Field, drive strategic growth, and elevate the Commercial business. As Executive Director, Strategic Sales Transformation, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for designing, implementing, and measuring initiatives that enhance sales effectiveness, operational integrity, and client-centric outcomes. You’ll serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership and cross-functional teams, ensuring that every initiative is aligned with enterprise goals and delivers measurable impact.
In this pivotal role, you’ll guide a Field-centric transformation that empowers our sales teams and strengthens our Commercial & Specialty Markets strategy. You’ll collaborate closely with critical business areas to align priorities and streamline execution. As a change champion, you’ll drive bold, future-focused decisions that prioritize long-term value over short-term gains. Your leadership will shape strategic frameworks that will have enterprise-wide influence and position the organization for sustained success.
Responsibilities
Responsible for a team who leads strategic processes and ensures alignment with organizational goals.
Develop and implement methodologies for prioritizing and executing strategic initiatives.
Design and oversee programs that formulate, research, and communicate strategic, operational, and financial business plans.
Establish and monitor KPIs to ensure strategic alignment and performance tracking.
Deliver actionable plans to address business unit challenges and opportunities.
Communicate the impact of internal and external environmental factors on business strategy.
Manage and develop a high-performing team through feedback, coaching, and formal reviews.
Required Qualifications
The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company’s business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:
10+ years of experience in health care, insurance or related field.
7+ years of experience in strategic program/project management.
5+ years of direct management or matrixed management experience.
Proven experience in a Field-facing role or exposure to Field operations.
Understanding of the Commercial business and its key business partners (UW, Compliance, Plan Sponsor Services, etc.).
Demonstrated ability to champion change and lead transformation initiatives.
Strong strategic thinking with the ability to anticipate future trends and implications.
Highly execution-oriented, with a track record of delivering complex initiatives.
Effective decision-maker, willing to make bold choices for benefit of the organization and Field colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong understanding of the Aetna business.
Expertise in business intelligence and strategic planning tools.
Strong collaboration and cross-functional leadership capabilities.
Growth mindset with a focus on continuous development—for self and others.
Mastery in problem-solving and navigating ambiguity.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or relevant professional qualification.
Advanced degree preferred.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$131,500.00 - $303,195.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
