Executive - HVAC MEP Estimator

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  
• 3+ years of experience in HVAC and/or MEP estimating.
  
• Strong understanding of MEP systems, materials, and construction methods.
  
• Proficiency in estimating software (such as Bluebeam, Accubid, Trimble, or PlanSwift).
  
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with AutoCAD/Revit preferred.
  
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  

• Typically works in an office setting with occasional site visits.

• Estimate Preparation:

  
  
  • Review project blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
    
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
    
  • Determine material, equipment, and labor costs.
    
  • Develop project budgets and timelines.

  Bid Preparation & Submission:

  
  
  • Analyze project scope to prepare competitive bid proposals.
    
  • Review RFQs (Request for Quotations) and RFPs (Request for Proposals).
    
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for pricing and availability.
    
  • Ensure timely submission of accurate bids.

• 
  Cost Analysis & Value Engineering:

  
  
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative materials/methods.
    
  • Perform value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality.

• 
  Collaboration & Coordination:

  
  
  • Work with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to refine estimates.
    
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits for project understanding.
    
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders regarding cost implications.

• 
  Market & Industry Research:

  
  
  • Stay updated with industry trends, material costs, and labor rates.
    
  • Evaluate historical data for more accurate forecasting.
