About the Office of the Massachusetts State Treasurer and Receiver General (“Treasury”)

Program Duration: June 1, 2026 - August 7, 2026
Office Location: 24 Beacon St, Boston, MA 02133
Communications Responsibilities:
Assist with drafting press releases and internal communications materials, including briefs, newsletters, or talking points
Monitor media coverage and compile daily or weekly news summaries for the communications team
Help track social media engagement and report basic performance metrics to the communications staff
Assist with content creation for social media, including graphics, short videos, or captions
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving public engagement and outreach
Qualifications:
Excellent oral and written communications skills;
Strong organizational skills and work ethic;
Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously;
Ability to handle confidential information in a responsible and sensitive manner; and
Proficient in using graphic design & illustration software and Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within teams

Work Schedule:
The internship program will allow you to work Monday through Friday (except for holidays) for a minimum of 15 hours to a maximum of 37.5 hours a work week from June to August over a 10-week timeframe. You must also be able to travel to the Boston Office location a minimum of 1-2 times a week based on your work schedule.
Please note that the exact schedule will be determined after a discussion with the direct supervisor.
Compensation:
High School Interns: $20/hour
Undergraduate Interns: $22/hour
Graduate Interns: $24/hour
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 10lbs
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
