Executive Producer, News #40482

WQRF (FOX) & WTVO (ABC) in Rockford, IL is looking for a multi-talented and self-motivated individual who wants to learn it all beginning with producing. Individual should be someone who is digitally aware and willing to learn to cover the news on all platforms.

The supervises news content across all media platforms and line produces at least one hour of a live newscast .

Additional Job Description

• Responsible for evaluating stories; organizing them into a cohesive sequence within a newscast or digital content for the web
• Define strategic direction for content coverage to meet business and financial objectives
• Manage news room, contribute to the editorial process and make solid decisions in breaking news situations
• Execute strategies that engage and grow audiences across all media devices
• Responsible for successful marketing of projects and adherence to budget

:

o Bachelor's Degree in Communications, TV/film or the equivalent

o At least 5 years’ experience in television or radio broadcast/production

o Must be able to interact well with video journalists, anchors, videographers, news managers, production and engineering staff

o Detail oriented

o Excellent verbal, written, and analytical skills

o Strong news judgment, journalistic integrity and understanding of viewer needs and expectations

o Utilize state-of-the-art television technology

o Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

o Flexibility to work any shift

Compensation: $20 - $21 per hour - commensurate with applicant's experience and skill level
