Join us in our User Access Management (UAM) transformation journey where we have exciting opportunities for engineers to innovate, design, build, and maintain solutions. Our team ensures reliable, efficient UAM systems by solving operational challenges with code whilst driving automation, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
At Macquarie, our advantage is bringing together diverse people and empowering them to shape all kinds of possibilities. We are a global financial services group operating in 31 markets and with 56 years of unbroken profitability. You’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team where everyone - no matter what role - contributes ideas and drives outcomes.
What role will you play?

We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a software-first mindset to design and operate large-scale, distributed systems powering our identity applications. You will use your expertise in Go, Python, or Java, along with knowledge of distributed systems, networking, and Linux internals, to deliver robust and reliable solutions. The role involves automating deployment, monitoring, and recovery using tools like Kubernetes, gRPC, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, as well as leveraging observability tooling like Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry for production debugging. You are curious about how complex systems fail and committed to building resilient, scalable services through continuous improvement and collaboration.
What you offer

.• Proven experience (4+ years) in software engineering or reliability roles, with expertise in defining and measuring SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets, as well as reduce operational load through automation and intelligent alerting
  • Strong ability to design scalable, reliable systems and evaluate architectural choices for latency and performance
  • Proficient in building automation tools and services using Python, Go, or similar languages, including self-healing and auto-scaling capabilities
  • Skilled in maintaining high-quality documentation and runbooks through code generation and automation; ability to improve mean time to detect (MTTD) and mean time to recover (MTTR)
  • Competency in monitoring and developing insight into system performance through metrics, tracing and logs, as well as forecasting and optimizing resource usage across compute, storage, and networking
  • Demonstrative ability to improve efficiency through data-driven scaling and performance tuning

We love hearing from anyone inspired to build a better future with us, if you're excited about the role or working at Macquarie we encourage you to apply.
