Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our vibrant dental team. Duties

• Assist the dentist during a wide range of procedures, including restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric treatments, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Take dental X-rays
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following infection control protocols aligned with HIPAA regulations.
• Manage dental records and documentation.
• Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures.
• Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing patient flow efficiently.
• Operate advanced equipment such as 3D scanners.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of dental terminology to communicate effectively within the team and with patients.

Skills

• Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental clinic environment.
• Experience with dental radiography including X-ray techniques for both adult and pediatric patients.
• Knowledge of dental assisting procedures such as chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and supporting complex treatments across multiple specialties including prosthodontics and endodontics.
• Ability to interpret dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology to ensure precise communication and documentation.
• Skilled in using dental software programs like Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling, billing, coding, and record management.
• Excellent organizational skills combined with the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy clinical setting.
