- Assist dentists with a wide range of procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring precision and comfort for patients.
- Perform expanded functions such as coronal polishing, temporary restorations, and other delegated clinical tasks following state regulations and practice protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while maintaining strict adherence to infection control standards and aseptic techniques.
- Manage patient flow by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
- Record detailed medical and dental histories using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; update medical documentation accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort during procedures to ensure safety and well-being.
- Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize efficiency and patient experience.
- Maintain comprehensive medical records, handle medical coding accurately for billing purposes, and ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy standards.
- Support front desk operations as needed by assisting the dental receptionist with appointment scheduling or patient communication. Skills

- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques essential for safe clinical practice.
- Experience with X-ray procedures, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology used in modern dentistry.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and understanding of pediatric-specific protocols for young patients.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during general dentistry procedures while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical coding to accurately document treatments and facilitate billing processes.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies such as dental imaging software or electronic health record platforms like Dentrix or Epic.
