Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric treatments, using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency.
• Take and develop high-quality X-rays and medical imaging to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques and infection control protocols are strictly followed.
• Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to document patient information accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
• Perform vital signs assessments and review medical history to ensure patient safety before procedures.
• Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care, and preventive practices to promote oral health awareness.
• Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing patient flow efficiently.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry and pediatrics to assist with precise procedures.
• Operate advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and ensure proper sterilization and infection control measures are upheld throughout the clinic.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with proficiency in chairside assisting across general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Certification as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) or equivalent is required; additional certifications in X-ray technology are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding practices related to dental records.
• Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for efficient documentation and record management.
• Experience with infection control standards and aseptic techniques within a dental clinic environment.
• Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while adhering to safety protocols for patients and staff.
• Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly and foster positive patient experiences.

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
