Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)

Infinity Dental is looking for a friendly, motivated Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our growing team! Responsibilities

As an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) at Infinity Dental, you will play an important role in supporting both our patients and our clinical team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the dentist during dental procedures and examinations by providing instruments and materials
  • Perform EFDA duties in accordance with Ohio regulations
  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring instruments are properly sterilized and supplies are ready
  • Take dental X-rays while following all safety and compliance protocols
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment notes, while following HIPAA guidelines
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
  • Follow infection control and sterilization protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment
  • Monitor patient comfort and vital signs when needed during procedures
  • Assist with specialty procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry when required
  • Provide occasional support to the front desk team with scheduling and patient communication

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is reliable, compassionate, and enjoys working in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • EFDA certification (Ohio) or eligibility to perform expanded functions
  • Experience as a Dental Assistant or EFDA preferred
  • Ability to take dental X-rays
  • Knowledge of infection control and sterilization procedures
  • Familiarity with dental software and patient record systems
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dental office

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • No nights
  • No weekends
