Experienced Barista for High End Coffee Shop

Overview
We are looking for a few professional baristas to add to our team! Our specialty coffee shop and roastery uses advanced manual brewing methods including espresso, cold brew, pour over, slow drip, and others to deliver the highest level of specialty coffee experience to coffee enthusiasts in the Pensacola region.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of high-quality coffee beverages manually (without using automatic machines) with precision and high standards, ensuring consistency and presentation excellence (latte art skill is important)
• Operate POS systems (we use Square) efficiently for sales transactions, cash handling, and order processing
• Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging with guests warmly, answering questions about menu items, and customizing drinks to meet preferences. Our baristas are very knowledgeable about coffee, preparation methods, blends, roast levels, and providing coffee education to customers when questions are asked.
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards across all work areas, including food preparation zones, barista stations, and dining spaces
• Manage food handling responsibilities responsibly, including food preparation, serving, and adhering to health regulations
• Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, ingredients, and supplies; restock as needed to ensure smooth operations
• Demonstrate effective time management during busy periods to ensure prompt service without compromising quality or safety

Requirements

• Proven barista experience in a high-end café or specialty coffee shop with a strong understanding of brewing techniques and latte art
• Extensive knowledge of coffee industry standards, food safety protocols, and proper food handling procedures
• Familiarity with Square POS system for efficient sales processing
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and handle diverse inquiries professionally
• Strong math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and accurate register operations
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, serving techniques, and café operations is preferred
