Duties

• Accurately perform medical coding using DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) and ICD-10 codes for chiropractic procedures and diagnoses
• Prepare and submit insurance claims efficiently through Medisoft systems
• Review medical records to verify documentation aligns with billing requirements and coding standards
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims to facilitate prompt medical collections and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain comprehensive records of billing activities, patient accounts, and insurance correspondence
• Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, ICD coding updates, and industry best practices
• Collaborate with chiropractic practitioners to ensure accurate documentation of services rendered

Qualifications

• Proven experience in medical billing within a chiropractic or similar healthcare setting
• Strong knowledge of DRG, CPT coding, ICD-10, and medical terminology
• Familiarity with medical office operations and experience using EMR/EHR systems
• Excellent understanding of medical records management and compliance standards
• Demonstrated ability to perform medical collection activities effectively
• Attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple billing tasks simultaneously
• Ability to communicate clearly with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers
