Experienced Custom Car Fabricator – Custom Automotive Sheet Metal + Welding

J-Raffe Fabrication is looking for a Custom Automotive Fabricator who has demonstrated skill in custom automotive fabrication including sheet metal, chassis, MIG/ TIG welding, etc. to add to our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to join a small business that specializes in classic car customization, race cars, restoration, custom chassis, and sheet metal fabrication.

MUST HAVE SHEET METAL EXPERIENCE (NOT HVAC)

*If you cannot install a quarter panel on a car, TIG weld or build something from scratch, please do not apply.

Responsibilities

• Custom metal and custom sheet metal fabrication, forming, and shaping
• Intensive rust repair of body, frame, and other vehicle components
• Construct and fabricate sheet metal components for a variety of automobiles
• Accurately form and shape material to prescribed measurements
• Autobody repair
• Deliver high-quality work for clients
• TIG and MIG welding
• Tube bending, fitting, and notching
• Floor pan replacement and patch welding
• Need to be able to safely operate a variety of hand and power tools and keep work areas clean
• Handle many phases of intensive long-term projects
• Maintain records of time needed to complete each operation
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
• Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts, etc.)
• Maintain equipment and tools in good condition

Qualifications

• MUST have previous experience as a welder/ fabricator in the automotive industry (or as a hobby)
• MUST be a proficient welder in TIG and MIG welding
• MUST be experienced welding with stainless steel
• MUST be experienced with metal fabrication (custom tube work, exhaust fabrication, suspension fabrication, bead rolling, fender rolling, fixture building, roll cage building/installation, custom fitting fenders, trunk lids, hoods, doors, etc.).

The work schedule is 4 10-hour days, Monday - Thursday. We offer PTO from the start and 7 paid holidays. $25-40 an hour depending on automotive industry experience. • MUST have reliable transportation
• MUST have a valid driver’s license
• MUST be physically able to complete required job duties over 10-hour workdays
• MUST be able to lift and carry over 50 pounds
• Experience using at least some of the following tools: TIG welder, MIG welder, tubing bender, CNC plasma table, power hammer, metal brake, English wheel, lathe, milling machine
