Absolute Repair (a subsidiary of Merx Truck & Trailer) is a heavy-duty diesel vehicle repair, body and frame repair shop. We are passionate about providing top-tier fleet maintenance and repair solutions for heavy and medium-duty vehicles and trailers in Cumming, IA. We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our Cumming team.

Compensation

• $33-40/hr
• Benefits - PTO, medical, dental, vision, 401(K), Holiday pay

What You’ll Do

• Lead diagnostic work on trucks that stump the rest of the shop
• Be the first call when something’s weird - electrical gremlins, regen failures, no-starts, intermittent faults
• Guide and develop junior techs - you won’t manage them, but they’ll follow your example and guidance
• Coordinate with the service advisor to make sure the customer knows what’s happening and why - strong efficient communication
• Keep your bay clean, your tools ready, and your reputation spotless

Who You Are

• 5+ years of diesel experience, including diagnostics.
• Familiar with OEM software (like Volvo, Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, International, Cummins, Paccar, Detroit, etc.)
• Able to read and interpret wiring diagrams, troubleshoot CAN communication issues
• Calm under pressure, relentless problem-solver, and don’t tolerate mediocrity
• Communicate clearly with customers or mentoring a junior tech
