Experienced Dispatcher OTR Trucking Transportation

Sweet Express, LLC a local growing transportation company based in Michigan is looking to hire a full time Driver Manager with transportation experience to work at our Flint, MI terminal. Sweet Express takes family to new levels! We over a full range of health and welfare benefits that start on the first of the month after date of hire. The schedule for this position is generally 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.

As a member of our Sweet Express team, you will:

• Manage a fleet of drivers to adhere to schedules and deliverables.
• Update Transportation Management System with current shipment information, complete daily logs and trackers
• Provide drivers with complete load details and detailed instruction to ensure successful runs
• Have clear understanding and be able to apply DOT hours of service rules
• Actively identify cost savings opportunities
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations and perform other duties as assigned by leadership
• Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives
• Monitor on-time pickup and delivery performance
• Comply and reinforce the US Department of Transportation laws and regulations along with company policy
• Look for ways to improve and promote quality and productivity
• Monitor drivers’ behavior and ensure a high level of customer service
• Communicate load information to drivers
• Monitor out of route miles
• Document and communicate all service-related issues
• Create and maintain an environment where drivers are satisfied and where overall morale is positive
• Communicate directly and daily with the driving force
• Work to resolve questions or issues that arise

We are looking for the privilege of working with a person who possesses

• At least one year of experience in transportation, over the road, dry-van experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of FMCSA and HOS
• Basic personal computer or host terminal skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to excel in a team environment
• Looks for ways to improve and promote quality and productivity
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
• Has strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Takes independent actions and calculated risks
• Has excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work in a high pressure and dynamic environment

An ideal applicant would have the following:

• Preferably 2 + years in the transportation industry
• Have previous experience with TMS software preferably McLeod
• Feel comfortable learning and using new programs
• Have previous knowledge of booking broker freight
