Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Infant Teacher to join our dedicated early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment tailored specifically for infants. Your expertise in childhood development, curriculum development, and classroom management will inspire young learners and support their growth during these foundational early years. As an Infant Teacher, you will collaborate with families and colleagues to foster a love of learning and promote social-emotional well-being in every child.

9:00am-5:30pm, M-F
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum plans focused on early intervention, literacy education, and physical development tailored for infants.
- Provide attentive toddler care, ensuring each child's safety, comfort, and individual needs are met with compassion and professionalism.
- Manage classroom activities effectively, maintaining a positive environment that encourages exploration and curiosity while adhering to best practices in childhood development.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to promote good conduct and emotional regulation among infants.
- Conduct assessments of each child's developmental progress, including standardized testing where appropriate, to inform lesson planning and individualized support strategies.
- Collaborate with families to communicate developmental milestones, behavioral observations, and tailored recommendations for ongoing support.
- Incorporate Montessori principles or other educational philosophies into daily routines to enhance learning experiences.
- Maintain detailed records of classroom activities, child progress reports, and incident documentation in compliance with childcare standards.
- Support inclusive education by working with children requiring special education or early intervention services to ensure all learners thrive.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven classroom experience working with infants in daycare or preschool settings.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, early childhood education practices, and classroom management strategies.
- Experience developing curriculum plans that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical education, and sensory activities for infants.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques suitable for young children to foster positive social interactions.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, colleagues, and specialists in early intervention or special education.
- Ability to implement standardized testing procedures when necessary to monitor developmental progress.
- Knowledge of childcare licensing standards and child welfare best practices.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; ongoing professional development in early childhood education is highly valued.
- Montessori training or experience with preschool methodologies is a plus.

STATE REQUIREMENTS
- CDA (Infant/Toddler) or Early Childhood 18-month Certificate
- High School Diploma or Associates' Degree
- Training in Shaken Baby Syndrome, SIDS, Safe Sleep Practices
- Current Pediatric First Aid/CPR Cert.
- 6-12 months of supervised classroom experience
- 2 Character References
- Successful completion of Sex Offender Registry Check
- Successful completion of FBI Criminal Background Check
- TB Skin Test (not more than 30 days old)

- Proof of degree and transcripts (foreign degrees must be translated in English)
- 2-Hour Child Abuse & Neglect: Recognition and Reporting
- 3-Hour Virginia Preservice Training on Health & Safety
SCHOOL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States
- Must have reliable transportation and be at work on time with minimal absences
- Must be willing to complete a 6-month probationary period
- 5 years of classroom experience working with infants ages 4-16 months
- Ideal candidate should have a professional demeanor, adhere to the school's staff policies to include a zero-tolerance policy on bullying and harassment on campus
- Ideal candidate should be willing to work as a team while taking directives from on-site management
- Staff uniforms are required
- Candidate must be at least 25 years of age and able to work the shift as advertised
- Candidate must have a strong command of English with the ability to write and speak English efficiently
- Candidate required to sign confidentiality agreement and offer letter
