Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces thoroughly by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
• Apply paints, stains, sealers, and specialty coatings using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, airless paint sprayers, and power tools for efficient coverage.
• Read blueprints and schematics to accurately determine project scope, color schemes based on color theory principles, and specific finishing requirements.
• Execute various types of painting projects including residential painting, commercial painting, construction painting, restoration work, and industrial coatings.
• Perform related tasks such as fixture installation, trim carpentry, stucco application, masonry touch-ups, concrete finishing, welding repairs, and maintenance tasks as needed on-site.
• Utilize construction estimating skills to assess project materials and time requirements while maintaining safety standards on construction sites.
• Collaborate with team members including carpenters and handyman specialists to ensure seamless project execution during remodeling or renovation projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, construction painting or industrial coatings with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics; understanding of construction drawings is essential.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools such as brushes, rollers, caulking guns, power tools including airless sprayers and welding equipment.
• Knowledge of color theory for achieving desired aesthetic effects; familiarity with restoration techniques is a plus.
• Ability to perform plastering, stucco application, masonry work, framing carpentry and trim carpentry with precision.
• Experience working on construction sites with an understanding of safety protocols; familiarity with schematics and basic math for measurements is required.
