Experienced Paralegal - Civil Litigation & Evictions

Dufford Waldeck is seeking skilled and experienced civil litigation paralegals with excellent organizational skills and recent experience supporting eviction cases from inception through trial. This position will assist our growing team of attorneys with legal research, filings, trial preparation, and client support. $25 - $35 hourly

• Draft subpoenas and coordinate with process servers
• Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings such as complaints, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits, under the supervision of a lawyer
• Gather information about legal issues from the client in interviews
• Aid lawyers in trial preparation by preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, conducting research on legal articles, and assisting with client meetings and filing motions
• Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized so all documents are readily accessible

• Completion of a nationally-accredited paralegal program strongly preferred
• ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired
• Must have strong interpersonal skills and talent for writing and grammar
• At least 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
• Must have great time-management skills, and organizational skills

• Must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program, such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional Microsoft Word and Adobe skills, with grammatical, spelling, and formatting expertise.
• Proficient knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure for the County Court and the Colorado Revised Statutes governing eviction procedures
• Recent experience with FEDs and related trial preparation
