Spokane’s Best Pet Sitter is seeking an experienced, dependable Pet Sitter / Animal Care Professional to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in animal care who is highly reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
Our sitters provide professional, in-home care for clients’ pets, along with consistent communication and updates. This position requires a high level of responsibility, flexibility, and commitment.
Primary Service Areas: South Hill, Airway Heights, and Northwest Spokane (west of Division). Applicants should be located within or near these areas and willing to travel within the greater Spokane area, including areas south or southwest toward Cheney.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide in-home pet sitting visits and dog walking
- Feed pets, refresh water, and maintain clean living areas
- Administer medications (including injections or willingness to learn)
- Monitor pets’ health, behavior, and well-being
- Send detailed updates and photos to clients after each visit
- Perform light home care (mail collection, plant watering, home checks)
- Maintain a clean, respectful presence in clients’ homes
Availability Requirements (Important)
- Must have broad availability between 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Must be available for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to perform overnight stays in clients’ homes
- Must be open to occasional same-day or last-minute scheduling needs
- This is not a limited-hours position
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet sitting, kennel work, or veterinary settings
- Veterinary assistant or veterinary technician experience is a strong plus
- Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance
- Comfortable using a smartphone and apps (including Pet Sitter Plus) for scheduling, visit check-ins/outs, and client communication
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Punctual, dependable, and self-motivated
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Team-oriented with a willingness to support other pet sitters as needed
- Comfortable working independently and managing time effectively
- Genuine love and compassion for animals
- Ability to pass a background check
- Commission-based: 65% and up depending on experience and role
- Average earnings approximately $25/hour, depending on schedule and workload
- Mileage pay for extended-distance visits (over 10 miles)
- Tips and performance-based bonuses available

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Work Location: On the road
