Experienced Pulmonary & Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider

What We're Looking For:


Novant Health New Hanover Medical Center
is looking for a compassionate, caring Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider to join a collaborative Pulmonary & Critical team of 8 physicians and 3 APPs in Wilmington, NC. This position is an inpatient only position. Rotation will alternate one week on/one week off between days and nights. This position will work holidays & weekends. Critical care experience required, prefer MICU experience. Acute Care certification required for NPs.

Position Highlights:

  • Rotation of day and night shift
  • Opportunity to work with internal medicine residents.
  • Will learn to perform central lines, A-lines, intubations, simple bronchoscopies, chest tubes, critical care ultrasound
  • Day Shift: Will primarily be with the planned co-management service with cardiology to provide dedicated critical care coverage to CCU/CVICU (start date tentatively Summer 2026). Certain CME courses will be required. This position may also be expected to flex and support other daytime intensivists in the medical ICU
  • Night shift: Will work with nighttime intensivist providing cross-cover of patients, admits patients to MICU, responds to codes

Requirements:

  • Education: Master's Degree required. Either a graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program, or NP or post Master’s NP program required. Acute Care certification required for NPs.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current PA or NP license in appropriate state required. NCCPA or registry with state nursing board, ACLS, DEA registry required.
  • Experience: Strongly prefer one to three years of experience working in pulmonary and critical care, MICU experience highly preferred.
