Virtual Nurse- Centralized Nursing Services
Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System is implementing an onsite Virtual Nursing Program utilizing virtual care equipment and technology. Virtual Nurses will work from a centralized onsite “bunker” location within the hospital and provide remote nursing support to bedside teams through secure audio/video communication.
Essential Responsibilities

Complete admission history and documentation

Perform medication reconciliation
-
Assist with discharge education and discharge documentation

Support patient and family education
-
Assist bedside nurses with care coordination and administrative tasks
-
Collaborate with physicians, case management, pharmacy, and bedside nursing teams
-
Escalate patient concerns or changes in condition to bedside staff immediately
-
Maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance during all virtual interactions
-
Document accurately and timely within the electronic medical record
Equipment/Technology
-
Utilize virtual nursing equipment and software
-
Operate multiple monitors, cameras, headsets, and communication platforms
-
Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and communicate concerns appropriately
Work Environment

Position is located onsite in a designated virtual nursing operations center (“bunker”)

Sedentary work environment with prolonged computer and monitor use
-
Frequent communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams through virtual platforms
Qualifications
-
Current RN licensure in South Carolina
-
Minimum of 2 years acute care nursing experience preferred

Strong communication and critical thinking skills
-
Proficient computer and EMR skills
-
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Previous experience in telehealth or virtual nursing preferred
