The Experiential Learning & Makerspace Librarian provides strategic leadership for the development, operation, and assessment of the SPARC Lab (Makerspace) as a hub for innovation, creativity, and engaged learning. Through collaboration with faculty, students, and campus partners, this position advances experiential, project-based, and interdisciplinary learning by integrating maker-centered pedagogies and emerging technologies into curricular and co-curricular experiences. The position fosters student success through high-impact educational practices, including the supervision and mentorship of student employees, while promoting exploration, creation, and discovery in support of the university's teaching, learning, research, and engagement mission. This position reports to the Student Success and Strategic Initiatives Librarian.
Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree, MLS or MLIS, from an ALA accredited institution
1 year of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
3 years related experience.
Experience designing and delivering workshops, training programs, instructional materials, or online learning module; Experience supporting, utilizing, or teaching the use of makerspace, digital media, and emerging technologies; Knowledge of makerspace technologies and/or demonstrated ability to learn and support new tools quickly. Supervisory experience.
