Overview:
Rapiscan Systems designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Our products range from handheld metal detectors to Real Time Tomography used to inspect baggage, cargo, people, vehicles and other objects for people, weapons, explosives, drugs, money, and other contraband. Rapiscan Systems security and inspection devices can be found in a wide range of locations such as, airports, border crossings, railway stations, seaports and terminals, government and military installations and nuclear facilities.
The Export Specialist performs administrative duties in support of activities related to the shipping of finished goods, receiving of incoming materials, and inventory accuracy. Communicates and coordinates with transportation companies. Handles routine questions and problems and maintains open communication with other departments throughout the shipping/delivery cycle. Confirms the accuracy of all freight quote, export paperwork to include; commercial invoices, SLI (shippers letter of instruction), DG (dangerous goods) documentations, and ACE filings. Transacts all shipment in our ERP system and files and distributes paperwork, as necessary. Maintains records per government regulations. Responsible for ensuring effective import and export compliance at multiple business units falling under assigned scope, in accordance with U.S. and international import and export laws and regulations and Rapiscan Systems import and export compliance policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Create, fulfill and close production orders

Communicate with clients and shippers and resolve any complaints.

Prepare shipping quotes for customers.

Negotiate shipping fees with couriers.

Addressing and resolving shipment and inventory issues.

Must have excellent Customer Service skills

Works independently without direct management.

Monitoring shipments, costs, timelines, and productivity.

Ensuring the safe and timely pick-up and delivery of shipments.

Request freight quotes from approved carriers for all shipments

Complete all required shipping documents

Daily interaction with cross-functional teams to include; compliance, sales operations, and order fulfillment team

Transact all receipts and/or shipments in ERP system

Perform daily cycle counts
- Maintain 5S in Shipping/Receiving Area

Receive incoming materials, supplies, and equipment

Verifies PO receipts against PO hard copy to confirm material is correct and rejects any discrepant material

Process all incoming material, supplies, and equipment in ERP system

Pick and pack customer orders to 100% accuracy

Must be computer proficient and comfortable with Word, Excel, Outlook and willing to learn our software.

Maintain an accurate record of shipment information

Assist in the training of entry-level employees

Operate pallet jack or forklift
Qualifications:
- High School diploma

Minimum 4 years’ experience with international shipping

General knowledge of ERP systems

General knowledge of inventory control

Strong Microsoft Excel / Outlook/communication skills

Pallet jack operation
-
Ability to lift a maximum of 50lbs.

The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.
