Overview
An EYP (Early Years Programme) Teacher at OWIS Sarjapur focuses on nurturing young learners' curiosity through play-based, inquiry-driven learning that supports their cognitive, social, and emotional development. Responsibilities
Curriculum Implementation: Design and deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences that promote inquiry, creativity, and foundational skills in alignment with OWIS’s Early Years curriculum.
Student Development: Foster the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of young learners through personalized support and a nurturing classroom environment.
Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with colleagues and parents to support each child’s development, maintaining open communication and contributing to a positive school community.
Skills Description
Skills Required for an EYP Teacher:
Child-Centered Approach: Strong understanding of early childhood development with the ability to create engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences.
Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills to connect with young children, collaborate with colleagues, and engage with parents.
Creativity & Flexibility: Ability to design innovative, play-based activities and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
Classroom Management: Strong skills in creating a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment that fosters independence and curiosity.
Observation & Assessment: Proficient in observing, documenting, and assessing student progress to inform individualized learning plans.
Empathy & Patience: A nurturing, patient, and empathetic approach to support the emotional and social well-being of young learners.
