Responsibilities & Expectations:
The Fabrication & Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the Machine/Fabrication Shop, provide design and technical support, manage facility maintenance, and act as a utility technician for switchgear and other related projects. In this critical role, the Fabrication & Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for improving operational efficiency and reducing downtime while ensuring production and facility infrastructure can scale to meet increasing demand.

Oversee daily machine/fab shop operations, including custom part fabrication and repair

Ensure alignment with CIPS and 6S standards to drive efficiency and safety

Support production teams by providing timely and accurate fabrication solutions

Collaborate with engineering to execute design modifications

Provide hands-on technical assistance for fabrication and utility-related project needs

Develop and implement proactive maintenance programs to minimize downtime

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment to extend operational life

Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements

Serve as a utility technician to meet evolving project and production needs

Provide flexible, multi-disciplinary support across teams to reduce bottlenecks and delays
Qualifications and Competencies:

Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, with experience in machining, fabrication, and facilities maintenance

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics

Working knowledge of power systems, power circuit breakers and other switchgear apparatus preferred

Knowledge of CIPS/6S practices and safety compliance requirements

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team

Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and provide hands-on support where most needed
