Responsibilities & Expectations:
The Fabrication & Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the Machine/Fabrication Shop, provide design and technical support, manage facility maintenance, and act as a utility technician for switchgear and other related projects. In this critical role, the Fabrication & Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for improving operational efficiency and reducing downtime while ensuring production and facility infrastructure can scale to meet increasing demand.
- Oversee daily machine/fab shop operations, including custom part fabrication and repair
- Ensure alignment with CIPS and 6S standards to drive efficiency and safety
- Support production teams by providing timely and accurate fabrication solutions
- Collaborate with engineering to execute design modifications
- Provide hands-on technical assistance for fabrication and utility-related project needs
- Develop and implement proactive maintenance programs to minimize downtime
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment to extend operational life
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements
- Serve as a utility technician to meet evolving project and production needs
- Provide flexible, multi-disciplinary support across teams to reduce bottlenecks and delays
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, with experience in machining, fabrication, and facilities maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Working knowledge of power systems, power circuit breakers and other switchgear apparatus preferred
- Knowledge of CIPS/6S practices and safety compliance requirements
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and provide hands-on support where most needed
