FABRICATION DESIGNER

Job Summary:

Quality Manufacturing is a Wholesale Sign manufacturing company seeking a Fabrication Designer to join our team. This role requires a combination of creativity, technical proficiency, and hands on skills to bring concept to life through fabrication design process. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of materials, manufacturing methods and design principles.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in fabrication design or related field.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical design, Drafting, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ years of hands-on SolidWorks experience in a manufacturing or engineered-production environment.
• Proficient in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks: part, assembly, and drawing creation)
• Proficient in Adobe CC software.
• Experience or strong knowledge of fabrication techniques including welding, machining, CNC milling, sheet metal, assembly methods, electrical and generic print production.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to implement new ideas.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with supporting design software (Gerber-Omega Software).
• Microsoft Office suite (Excel & Word).
• Striving for continuous improvement.
• Ability to work in a high-volume shop.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fabrication techniques: Utilize a variety of fabrication techniques such as welding, machining, sheet metal forming.
• Selecting appropriate materials and processes based on design requirements and constraints.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including creative, project managers, and fabrication team to coordinate project objectives, timeline and budgets.
• Research and document specifications.
• Assist in maintaining and updating drawing files.
• Create output file for other production departments (CNC, Fabrication, Sheet Metal, Mold, Print).
• Develop creative and effective build strategy ideas to best fit all project parameters.
• Develop a strategic design solution.
• Considers a wide range of construction methodologies optimized to work with wood, metal, and plastic materials to make well informed decisions while transitioning the initial design concept & build strategy into production design.

Work Environment / Physical Demands:

• Work is performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
• Office hours average 40hrs per week extended work hours may be required on occasion.
• Ability to use computer keyboard and sit in a stationary position for extended periods.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
