Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable and proactive Fabrication Facilitator / Forklift Driver to support the movement and coordination of fabrication and welding work throughout the workshop.

This hands-on role is responsible for delivering materials, components, and fabrication work to welders and fabricators using a forklift, ensuring jobs are in the correct areas and production runs smoothly and efficiently.

The successful candidate will work closely with workshop teams, supervisors, and stores to ensure materials and jobs are moved safely, on time, and in line with production priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport fabrication work, materials, and components safely throughout the workshop using a forklift.
  • Deliver jobs and materials to welders and fabricators in line with production schedules.
  • Move completed work between departments including fabrication, welding, painting, and assembly.
  • Liaise with supervisors, stores, and workshop teams to support workflow and production priorities.
  • Ensure workshop areas remain organised and materials are stored correctly.
  • Support workflow efficiency by ensuring work is delivered to the correct areas on time.
  • Assist with workload planning and job prioritisation.
  • Maintain a safe and organised working environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.

Requirements

Essential

  • Valid forklift licence/certification.
  • Experience working within a fabrication, welding, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong awareness of workshop health & safety.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced workshop environment.
  • Positive and team-focused attitude.
  • Reliable and dependable work ethic.

Desirable

  • Previous experience supporting fabrication or welding teams.
  • Overhead crane experience.
  • Experience handling steel, fabrication materials, or heavy components.
  • Basic understanding of fabrication drawings and workshop processes.
