Job Summary
The Fabrication Operator is responsible for the fabrication, processing, and finishing of quartz slabs and products in accordance with production specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. This role involves operating fabrication equipment, handling quartz materials, and ensuring finished products meet company and customer expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, CNC machines, polishers, routers, and edge-profiling machines used in quartz manufacturing
- Measure, cut, shape, polish, and finish quartz slabs according to work orders, drawings, and specifications
- Inspect materials and finished products for defects, accuracy, and quality compliance
- Safely handle, move, and position quartz slabs using cranes, forklifts, carts, and other material-handling equipment
- Perform basic machine setup, adjustments, and routine maintenance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
- Follow all dust control, PPE, and silica exposure prevention procedures
- Accurately complete production documentation, work orders, and quality records
- Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding production status, issues, or material needs
- Assist with loading, unloading, and staging of materials as required
- Perform other duties as assigned to support production operations

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in quartz, stone, or countertop fabrication
- CNC machine operation experience
- Forklift and/or overhead crane certification
- Experience working with polishing, cutting, or finishing equipment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with heavier loads using equipment
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, and vibration (with appropriate PPE)
Work Environment
- Indoor manufacturing facility
- Exposure to silica dust, machinery, and loud noise levels
- Use of required PPE including respirators, gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Job Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy materials (50 lbs.), stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions such as wet floors and exposure to noise.
