Blue Mountain Construction Services in Vacaville, CA has an Immediate opening for an Experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator
JOB SUMMARY
As a sheet metal fabricator, you will be responsible for interpreting material orders, selecting appropriate materials, and assembling projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Incumbent must have the skills, ability, and judgment to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Fabricate ducts for high efficiency heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to maximize efficiency of systems.
- Convert blueprints into shop drawings to be followed in the construction and assembly of sheet metal products.
- Install assemblies, such as flashing, pipes, tubes, heating and air conditioning ducts, furnace casings, in supportive frameworks.
- Select gauges and types of sheet metal according to product specifications.
- Drill and punch holes in metal, for screws, bolts, and rivets.
- Fasten seams and joints together with welds, bolts, cement, rivets, solder, caulks, metal drive clips, and bonds in order to assemble components into products or to repair sheet metal items.
- Fabricate or alter parts, using shears, hammers, punches, and drills.
- Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts, using hand tools and portable power tools.
- Maintain equipment, making repairs and modifications when necessary
- Develop and lay out patterns that use materials most efficiently, using computerized metalworking equipment to experiment with different layouts.
- Determine project requirements, including scope, assembly sequences, and required methods and materials, according to blueprints, drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
- Layout, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material, according to drawings or templates, using calculators, scribes, dividers, squares, and rulers.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to Work full time Monday – Friday on a flexible schedule
- Willingness to work
- Sheet Metal Fabrication experience, preferably
- Good quality workmanship
- Pass drug screening and background check
- Ability to maintain: 1) reliable and safe transportation to other BMCS jobsites 2) valid California driver’s license, 3) proper vehicle registration, and 4) California’s minimum automobile insurance coverage requirement.
- This role routinely uses construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools
- While performing duties of the job the employee may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms
- May work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness
- May work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levels
- May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dust
- May be required to work in confined spaces or from high heights
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work environment and physical requirements would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following:
Working Conditions:
Work is performed primarily at the warehouse. Lighting is artificial. Equipment used includes Welder gun as well as standard safety equipment i.e. safety glasses, gloves and work boots. Individual will have some exposure to dust, noise, heat, cold and fumes. Physical demands include walking, standing, bending over, crouching, balancing, pushing, and pulling, repetitive use of both hands, grasping, lifting up to 50 lbs., driving forklifts and other equipment, and being around other work equipment and machinery; and occasionally sitting, reaching overhead, and kneeling. Hours are primarily seven days a week/ 24 hours per day with various shifts and some overtime required. Position requires contact with some Blue Mountain Inc. employees.

The base pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00.
