AIC Group Limited designs, manufactures, installs and maintains bespoke incineration, Thermal Treatment and Waste To Energy systems for clients across a range of sectors.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Fabricator Welder to join our manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on specialist engineering projects, manufacturing high-quality Waste To Energy systems, combustion equipment, ductwork, steel structures and associated mechanical components.

The Role

The successful candidate will be involved in the fabrication and welding of components used in the manufacture of bespoke thermal treatment and Waste To Energy systems.

The role will suit someone with strong practical skills, good attention to detail and experience working from engineering drawings.

The role will also involve travel to customer sites for installation, service support and breakdown/repair works as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabrication and welding of steel components, frames, ducting, hoppers, chambers and associated assemblies.
  • Working from engineering drawings, sketches and verbal instructions.
  • MIG welding, with TIG and MMA experience advantageous.
  • Cutting, grinding, drilling, forming and preparing materials.
  • Measuring, marking out and assembling fabricated components accurately.
  • Carrying out quality checks on completed work.
  • Supporting the wider manufacturing team with assembly and fitting tasks.
  • Assisting with site installations, repairs and breakdown works when required.
  • Travelling to customer sites as part of installation and maintenance activities.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
  • Following company health and safety procedures at all times.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience as a fabricator welder in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Competent in MIG welding and general fabrication.
  • Experience working with mild steel.
  • Good practical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites for installation and breakdown works.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with stainless steel fabrication.
  • TIG welding experience.
  • Coded MMA welding experience would be advantageous.
  • Experience manufacturing industrial plant, pressure equipment, ductwork, tanks, hoppers, conveyors or combustion-related equipment.
  • Experience working on site installations, breakdowns or industrial maintenance works.
  • Forklift, overhead crane or manual handling training.
  • Experience working in a bespoke or low-volume manufacturing environment.
