Position Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance & Cleaning Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and functional work environment throughout the facility. This role performs routine cleaning, minor maintenance repairs, and general upkeep of building interiors and surrounding areas. The position supports daily operations by ensuring that workspaces, common areas, and production environments remain sanitary, organized, and in good working condition.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cleaning of offices, restrooms, breakrooms, hallways, and common areas.
- Maintain cleanliness of warehouse, production areas, and facility grounds as assigned.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors and surfaces.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms and replenish supplies.
- Empty trash and recycling containers and ensure proper disposal.
- Maintain outdoor areas including entrances, walkways, and parking areas.
- Perform minor facility maintenance such as changing light bulbs and replacing filters.
- Report building maintenance issues or safety concerns to management.
- Assist with facility setup and cleanup for meetings or company events.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure supplies are stocked.
- Follow company safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals.
- Assist with moving furniture, equipment, or supplies when needed.
- Maintain organized storage areas for janitorial supplies.
- Identify opportunities for improving facility cleanliness and efficiency.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in janitorial, cleaning, or facility maintenance roles preferred.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning practices and maintenance tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and handle cleaning chemicals responsibly.
- Good communication skills and reliability.
Physical Demands:
- Requires a significant portion of the day on your feet.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, kneel, squat, push, pull, and lift items up to 60 lbs.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to handle tools and cleaning equipment.
- Close and distance vision required.
Work Environment:
- Indoor and outdoor work environments depending on facility needs.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and maintenance equipment.
- Moderate noise levels typical of office, warehouse, or production environments.
- Occasional exposure to moving equipment or varying temperatures.
Work Hours / Schedule:
Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
